The Syracuse Stamp Club is proud to issue these unofficial first and second day covers honoring the 230th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps.  Our cachet, created by club member Vincent Juchimek, shows the four Marine patches that are displayed on the stamps.

The four Distinguished Marines are: John A. Lejeune, the 13th Commandant and Camp Lejeune's namesake; General L. B. "Chesty" Puller, the most decorated Marine in history; gunnery Sergeant John Basilone of Guadalcanal fame; and Sergeant Major D. J. Daly, a two time Medal of Honor recipient.

The first day cancellation shows the official Marine Corps sword; the second day cancellation shows two service stars. The Syracuse Stamp Club honors all current and former Marines in Syracuse and Onondaga County for their dedication and service to their country.
